One Day It'll Happen
2026
machine-pieced and quilted fabric, hand appliqué 47.5” x 47.5”
Vintage clothing and housewares (grandma’s maternity skirt, mom’s sweater, my childhood dress, baby quilt scraps, workwear, leisurewear, formalwear, hand towels, kitchen curtains), hand-dyed and screen-printed cotton, raw silk, cotton thread, cotton batting
This is a coming-of-age quilt. Inspired by my two teenage sons, I reflected on life’s transitional moments when we evaluate parts of ourselves to keep or set aside. The process can take days, years, even decades; it can appear as one monumental event, or a collection of seemingly trivial choices leading to personal discovery. Both require effort and bold self-awareness so we can RUN confidently forward.
Repurposed fabrics, collected through generations, combine with hand-dyed and printed fabric in a modified log cabin pattern to tell a story of personal growth and ambition supported by the love of family and home.
